Modern Love Vegan Food & Mocktail Pop-Up – Third Place Bar

Kick off Sober October with a feast! Join us on October 4 and 5 at Modern Love Brooklyn in Williamsburg for our first ever 2-day restaurant mocktail pop-up.

In addition to fantastic vegan comfort food by chef, cookbook author, and absolute LEGEND Isa Chandra Moskovitz, you’ll also be able to order from a special drinks menu of five different non-alcoholic cocktails developed by Sam of Third Place Bar. Toast with a spritz or a chai espresso martini, spice it up with a jalapeño prickly pear margarita, sip on a smokey no-groni, or treat yourself with a frothy blueberry cardamom sour.

You can order food and drinks a la carte from Modern Love’s incredible menu, or indulge in the seasonal tasting menu (subject to availability). Drinks will be available a-la-carte.

Seatings are limited! Please click here to make your reservation on OpenTable for October 4 or 5 from 5-10pm both days. There are no reservations or tickets available on this page.

Please note:

  • The restaurant is not an entirely sober space and has alcohol on the menu. The non-alcoholic specialty drinks for the pop-up are different from the regular menu and will be clearly separated from other beverages on the menu.

  • Food and drinks are subject to availability.

  • Please honor your reservations and cancel on OpenTable if you’re unable to attend.

About Third Place Bar

Third Place Bar NYC is a series of non-alcoholic bar events in New York City founded by Sam Bail in late 2022. The goal of Third Place Bar is to provide an environment for people to socialize and connect without feeling the pressure to drink – whether they’re just not drinking for the night, taking some time off, or are on a longer alcohol-free journey. “Third Place” is an idea first coined by the sociologist Ray Oldenburg to describe those places, outside of work or home, that foster social connections – read more about the concept and the idea behind the name in our first blog post.

Since its launch, Third Place Bar several dozen social events in New York City, including trivia, movie nights, brunch, and live music. See our Events page for a list of upcoming events in the city.

In addition to hosting social events, Third Place Bar also collaborates with Minus Moonshine, a Brooklyn-based non-alcoholic bottle shop, to host “non-alcoholic cocktail 101 classes” in New York City. In these zero-proof mixology classes, we teach participants the basics of cocktail making, introduce and sample different types of non-alcoholic cocktail ingredients such as spirit alternatives and botanicals, and demo several cocktails (or “mocktails”). Learn more about the classes here.

We also offer non-alcoholic beverage consulting services for hospitality businesses and are available for media consultations such as interviews, podcasts, and blog posts.

If you are interested in speaking to us about hosting private cocktail classes, menu consulting, or media inquiries, please send us an email at [email protected].
