The Daily Llama Brings You The Word Of The Day For November 16th Through November 20th, 2021

The Daily Llama brings you the word of the day, short meditations for your complete wool-being (#seewhatwedidthere?) for Monday, November 16th through Friday, November 20th.

MONDAY, November 16th

WORD OF THE DAY: FLOW

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Meditate on this:

Most of us have watched small children play with total freedom and lack of inhibition. They do not second-guess their own imaginations to overcome the limits of what is possible. They are not crippled by insecurities. When they are fully present in their play, they are harmoniously in tune with possibility. What could we be if we allowed ourselves to flow into our purpose without being held back by our insecurities, fears, self-deceptions and defense mechanisms?

TUESDAY, November 17th

WORD OF THE DAY: POSSIBILITY

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Meditate on this:

Twenty-four hours. In early recovery, that is what we are supposed to focus on: the twenty-four hours in front of us. Not behind us. And definitely not days ahead of us. Our job is to focus on the possibilities and challenges of the present moment. Because in every moment, we are met with the choice of who we are going to be. Our future is made up of the decisions we make day in and day out. The small moments define us much more than the big ones, and it’s the small moments where we have the most control. The castle is made from individual bricks that are set one at a time.

WEDNESDAY, November 18th

WORD OF THE DAY: SELF-COMPASSION

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Meditate on this:

Words are like seeds. Whatever seeds we plant grows according to their nature. If we plant tomato seeds, we get tomatoes. When we plant angry words, we grow anger. If we plant cruel words, we grow cruel. But if we plant kind words, we grow kind. If we plant loving words, we grow love. Sometimes others have planted hurtful words in our minds, and it can be hard to unroot what others have planted. But like any faithful gardener, we have to pull out the weeds as soon as we spot them and not allow them to fester. And if we don’t get all of them? That’s an opportunity for more self-compassion. After all, every garden gets weeds from time to time.

THURSDAY, November 19th

WORD OF THE DAY: NO

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Meditate on this:

When we are fully in flow with our purpose and have learned to love ourselves more, we can say no to anything and everything that would bring harm to us. We can say no to toxic people, and end conversations that are not good for us. Additionally, we can leave situations that are not safe or supportive. We can set healthier limits on our time and our energy. When we have full compassion and love for ourselves, we learn that we can say no and not have to explain why.

FRIDAY, November 20th

WORD OF THE DAY:  YES

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Meditate on this:

When we have learned to set and maintain our boundaries, then we are more available to say yes to the things which matter to us. While we must all do things from time to time that bring little joy, these are not the things on which our lives are centered. Saying no and saying yes both are grounded in self-compassion. They are separate but entwined branches from the same root. Our ability to live fully in our Yes rests solidly on our ability to say No to anything that brings us harm.
