SHE RECOVERS® in CHICAGO: A Celebration of Strength, Diversity, and Recovery

As we move into the heart of 2023, we are thrilled to announce a pivotal event on the recovery calendar. The renowned SHE RECOVERS® Foundation is set to host its innovative three-day experience, SHE RECOVERS® in Chicago, from September 29 to October 1.

Taking place at the iconic Palmer House Hilton Hotel, this event follows the resounding success of previous programs in New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami. It’s a gathering that celebrates resilience, diversity, inclusion, and innovation, designed by women for women, and non-binary individuals who identify with women’s communities.

An Invitation to Healing and Community

Whether you’re navigating life’s challenges such as trauma, substance use, grief and loss, or anxiety and depression, this event offers a supportive environment for exploration and recovery. If you’re seeking a community on your healing journey, or looking to expand your personal growth and self-development, this conference is for you.

The event also warmly welcomes those who support women within a recovery-oriented system of care, including professionals, advocates, recovery-focused thought leaders, authors, influencers, and entrepreneurs.

Our Stories. Our Strength.

The theme of SHE RECOVERS® in Chicago is “Our Stories. Our Strength.” This organization believes in the incredible power of shared narratives to heal, spread hope, and save lives. Most program elements will involve storytelling, with an introduction to the craft and showcases highlighting various forms of creative self-expression such as spoken word, embodied movement, music, and art.

Honoring Your Stories

In a new initiative this year, they’ve dedicated time and space for identity-based groups such as Black, Indigenous, and women of color, the LGBTQ+ community, healthcare and allied professionals, legal professionals, and others. This will provide an opportunity to connect, brainstorm, and discuss how the SHE RECOVERS® Foundation can better support these communities.

Inspirational Speakers

They’re excited to announce the keynote speakers for this year’s event: best-selling author of “Eat, Pray, Love” & “Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear,” Elizabeth Gilbert, and civil rights leader, lawyer, award-winning filmmaker & best-selling author of “See No Stranger: A Memoir & Manifesto of Revolutionary Love,” Valarie Kaur.

Elizabeth and Valarie will be joined by other provocative speakers, inspirational changemakers, and thought leaders who are redefining recovery across the globe.
