Pucker Up Butter Cup! Passion Fruit Pucker By Two Roots Brewing

Two Roots Brewing is a delicious brewery that left the west coast to relocate to Michigan, in my backyard! We’ve tried many of their delicious non-alcoholic brews, and they even made my favorite beer: Resin Riot, a double IPA. Now, we’ll dive into another one of their limited releases and bring something unique to our mouths. Yes. Our mouths.

This week we are drinking Passion Fruit Pucker by Two Roots Brewing. A deliciously sour beer that promises floral notes and a fruity, sour finish. Upon the first crack of the can, you can get those delicious floral notes that only become more exaggerated as you pour this light beer into a glass. There are fruity aromas that ensure Two Roots Brewing will keep you guessing the exact flavor until it’s almost mouth time, and then you know you are in for a treat.

The color is a surprisingly pale but thick yellow. Much like previous fruit beers we’ve tried, the expected color from the fruit does not present itself. Still, as the crisp white head bubbles and pops, more of the aroma seeps out, and even as I write this, my mouth waters with the anticipation of what kind of sourness Two Roots Brewing put into this Passion Fruit Pucker.

A few things happen as soon as this beer hits your mouth, and I think they occur in this order. First, you figure out that the floral smell you were getting was lemongrass. Second, you taste that passion fruit is hiding behind the beer’s pale-yellow color. Third, and finally, Two Roots Brewing reminds you that this is a sour by punching you in the face and squeezing your taste bud’s balls with one of the most intense sour flavors you may experience. This is intense. It’s reminiscent of Warheads and Cry Baby candy, sucking the saliva from your glands but also begging you to drink more. Ho-ly shit!

Untappd gives Passion Fruit Pucker from Two Roots Brewing nothing yet because it’s too new, but if you like sours, I am sure this will be a 5 out of 5 in your books. It seriously hits all the notes you’ll look for in a sour and then some. It’s a limited beer, so get it while you can and get a lot of it and then tell me what you think of it and then learn a new dance.
