Let’s Make Mother’s Day Weird! 6 Gifts That Keep On Giving – The Facts of (AF) Life with Blair Sharp

Mother’s Day is special to me because…I’m a mom. But not only that, it reminds me of why I decided to cut alcohol from my life.

If I hadn’t had my son, I’m not quite sure that I’d be a non-drinker today. In fact, I’d probably be going out to bars regularly and trying to relive the glory days of my early 20s. I had a blast back then – but I’m glad I’ve moved on and that I’m living my life alcohol-free.

So, back to Mother’s Day – most people who take on the mother role in a child’s life deserve more than just one day to be celebrated. They deserve more than a single bouquet of flowers or a 60-minute massage from a local spa.

For that reason, I’ve put together a list of gifts for the mom in your life. These aren’t ordinary gifts, but the mom in your life is bound to like at least one of them.  Enjoy!

Cheese Subscription

Need I say more? Who doesn’t love a regular shipment of cheese straight to their front door? This gourmet gift will be sure to delight the cheese lover in your life. And if you play your cards right, maybe they’ll even share some with you! There are several different places that provide this yummy gift idea for the mom in your life. Check a few out below:

Streaming Services

I feel like these should sell themselves, but I’m a television aficionado. We have way more TV options in our house than we need, but that’s what we like to spend our money on (in addition to food). For those in your life that don’t splurge on streaming services as I do, here’s a list of ones to choose from:

Car Wash Monthly Subscription

I never think about washing my car, but my husband keeps ours shiny and clean – so maybe that’s why? Anyways, who wouldn’t love a subscription to unlimited car washes? I mean, most of us have cars that need to be washed, so it just makes sense right? It’s also nice to have someone else pay for those car washes. To find a service in your area, just Google “car wash subscription” or “car wash club.”

Create Your Own Coupon Book

An oldie but goodie! This is an inexpensive way to keep your kiddos busy and give the mama in their lives something to appreciate. This gift keeps on giving because you can make enough coupons to last the entire year! To do that, just add twelve checkboxes to the coupon and mom can check off each time it’s used. Don’t forget to add some tasks that mom really hates doing. For me, that’s picking up a mess that I didn’t make. Let your imagination run wild here!

Magazine Subscriptions

Magazines are not a thing of the past! Who doesn’t love a surprise piece of snail-mail in their actual mailbox? There are a ton of options for you to choose from – so you’ll surely find something for every mom in your life. Plus, it’s a really inexpensive gift! Remember to mark down the renewal date so it doesn’t auto-renew without your permission. Sometimes they’ll increase the price after the year is up.

Find subscription options here.

Custom Air Fresheners

Need I say more? Give mom your face on an air freshener so that she can remember you all year long – but how would she ever forget? The sites below allow you to choose from different shapes and scents, so you can personalize your gift!

So there you have it – six gifts for the mama in your life to feel appreciated throughout the year – not just on Mother’s Day. And hey – if we’re being real here, just not forgetting about the day and letting mom do what she wants with it is a great way to celebrate too!  Enjoy!
