Kolibri Drinks, A Sparkling, Botanically Infused Drink From The UK, Is On A Mission To Empower Individuality & Diverse Diets With Customizable Drinks
Kolibri Drinks, a sparkling, botanically infused drink from the UK, is on a mission to empower individuality and diverse diets with customizable drinks. And we are here for it! They claim to create experiences in packaged products which inspire, heal and delight. I’m here to tell you, they more than deliver on these promises.
Kolibri’s tagline is “Drinks tailored by you”. Let’s explore what exactly this means. The founders of this oh-so-hip UK brand recognized that everyone has different tastes when it comes to drinks – not to mention health needs. With this as the foundation of their beverage utopia, the spent over three years creating the world’s first customizable drinks, which for the first time gives consumers control of key ingredients. Intrigued? So were we!
The Sweet Spot
Kolibri Drinks’ unique feature is in the packaging: a special cap filled with a sweet agave nectar, which sits on top of the sparkling, botanically infused drink in the bottle. This allows you to add your preferred dose of agave to the drink, depending on how sweet or dry you like it. At the push of a button, you can now tailor the drink to your individual diet or taste preference.
New Age Beverages for discerning customers
From the very beginning, the founders of Kolibri believed flavor and quality were of the utmost importance. They also insisted the sensory, experiential and visual aspects of the drinks must be combined with functional health benefits. They accomplished all of these goals with their product line.
I’m here to tell you, this drink is everything I could possibly want in a bottle visually. For starters, the bottles themselves are gorgeous. As much fun as I love to have with my glassware, I felt a little guilty pouring this sparkling beverage into another glass to drink. The artwork on the glass bottles is unlike anything I have seen before. Oh how I would love to see other pieces of work from whomever this artist is. The shape of the bottle also just feels really good in your hand. Solid, heavy, balanced.
The Meaning of Seeing a Hummingbird
Kolibri is a type of Hummingbird. I ended up taking a deep dive to learn all types of things about this unique and beautiful little creature. Apparently, the hummingbird is a magical creature that is like no other. It is said when it shows up in your life, it symbolizes that you are doing well. It means that you have a unique way of handling life challenges; you have amazing strength and flexibility. Frankly speaking, the hummingbird is a powerful spiritual messenger.
The Kolibri Journey
Taste and experience
In late fall of 2020, I was able to sample three Kolibri flavors. These included Elderflower & Lime, Strawberry Basil, and Cardamom & Chili. I absolutely loved that I could customize the sweetness to my own personal preference with the agave in the lid. To be honest, the sparkling seltzers tasted delightful on their own without the added sweetener. Who can resist the experience of gently pushing a small button in a cap to squirt a hint of sweetener? Not this gal! Such a fun and unique way to experience a drink.
While all three flavors were truly delightful, I think my favorite of the three was the Cardamom & Chili. It was just so unique and refreshing. Not only that, it hit all of my senses!
NOSE: Powerful notes of aromatic cardamom with a hint of clove and red chilli
PALATE: Full-bodied, rich mouthed feel with well-balanced juniper and spice
FINISH: Complex and full of texture, long-lasting Baharat undertones
London Fashion Week 2019
If you haven’t figured it out yet, the UK and other parts Europe are always ahead of the US in trends, especially when it comes to fashionable trends. Dry January was started in the UK and other parts of Europe back in 2014 as a public health ad campaign. However, the tradition of going “dry” dates back all the way to 1942 with the Finnish Government had launched a campaign called “Sober January” in 1942 as part of its war effort.
Kolibri New Flavors
Since sampling their flavors this past fall, Kolibri has come out with three new flavors listed below. Patiently, we are eagerly waiting for this brand to start distributing in the United States again via Amazon Prime, because we are obsessed! And the good news is we were just alerted that one of their flavors, Tales of Marrakesh is available again on Amazon.
Tales of Tuscany: Inspired by the Roman city of Cortona, with its views over the surrounding valley and Lake Trasimeno. Tales of Tuscany is our signature non-alcoholic Aperitivo, to be savored with some nibbles with your friends. Nourish your soul with the beguiling blend of wild berries grown under the Tuscan sun and fresh mint over a warm juniper base, with grains of paradise and a hint of vanilla. Sit back, unwind, and savor the essence of La Dolce Vita… Saluti!
Tales of Somerset: Refreshing and quintessentially British combination of fragrant lavender, zesty limes, and pollen-rich English elderflower. The finely crafted Elderflower Bellini is as subtle and delicate as it is captivating, evidenced in its sublime notes of pear, lavender, and lime. It is a heavenly flowery and tangy combination with a pop of juniper.
Tales of Marrakesh:Indulge your senses with lavish and opulent Arabian spices, aromatic cardamom, crimson clove, juniper, and citron. Tales of Marrakesh is a delightful Baharat blend of luscious fruits and heady spices, native to Morocco and the Middle East.
