Finish January Strong With The Daily Llama, Bringing You The Word Of The Day For January 25th Through January 29th, 2021
The Daily Llama brings you short, one-word meditations and a corresponding quote for your complete wool-being (#seewhatwedidthere?) for Monday, January 25th through Friday, January 29th, 2021. Channel your inner peace as you tackle the craziness of the world and finish Dry January strong.
MONDAY, JANUARY 25thWORD OF THE DAY: LIVELYQUOTE OF THE DAY:
THE DAILY LLAMA SAYS TO MEDITATE ON THIS:
Life is short and messy and precious. Don’t waste your time being beleaguered by all the problems you see in the world. Focus on one or two things that matter to you, and then live wholeheartedly in the solution.
Think about every great person that has lived. Not one has ever solved all the problems in the world. Not one has cheated death. Once you fully accept that failure in life is inevitable, you free yourself to make mistakes. You free yourself to become fully alive.
Do something every day that makes somebody else’s day a little better. Live your life so that it leaves a mark on the world.
TUESDAY, JANUARY 26thWORD OF THE DAY: DARING QUOTE OF THE DAY:
THE DAILY LLAMA SAYS TO MEDITATE ON THIS:
There are two types of fear: the fear that protects us and the fear that holds us back. It is tempting to remain in fear’s embrace. It may seem that nothing can hurt us if we never venture out into the arena.
But if we can’t be hurt, we can’t be known. And then we can’t be loved fully for who we are, and we can’t fully love another.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27thWORD OF THE DAY: GRACIOUS QUOTE OF THE DAY:
THE DAILY LLAMA SAYS TO MEDITATE ON THIS:
When we act with graciousness toward others, we will be empowered. Being gracious means that we are slow to get angry and judgmental when others behave in a way we don’t understand or like. The ability to be gracious is rooted in total self-awareness and self-acceptance.
When we have made peace with our shortcomings and imperfections, we can respond with more graciousness when others fall short of perfection. It takes zero strength to lose one’s temper. It takes little intelligence to put another person down.
But it shows the strength of character and wisdom to speak kind words to people who are acting out of their pain.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 28thWORD OF THE DAY: GLOWING QUOTE OF THE DAY:
THE DAILY LLAMA SAYS TO MEDITATE ON THIS:
We will never achieve perfection. There may be a few times in life when everything seems to come together in one perfect minute. But these moments are the exception, not the rule, and these moments usually occur without orchestration.
Most of life is lived in the mundane moments. Most of us are not spending large amounts of time summiting mountains or making life-changing discoveries. The people we meet are not saints or villains who operate with clear passions and consistent agendas. Most of us live with a large amount of ambivalence. We’re a mixture of beliefs, moods, and behaviors, capable of inflicting pain or spreading love.
Our western culture, which is hyper-focused on prosperity, success, achievement, and physical beauty, thrives on feeding us a steady diet of shame to keep us feeling not good enough. This less-than feeling leads us to become enslaved in a vicious cycle of consuming products and engaging in activities designed to make us “better” than we are.
We begin to form an identity based on the products we buy, the places we live or travel to, the homes we live in, the clothes we wear, or the music we listen to. Our lives are consumed with a constant striving for more that is deeply rooted in the shameful belief that we are not enough as is.
Self-compassion is the antidote to shame. Accepting our complete humanness is the beginning of self-love because we release ourselves from the pressure to perform and allow ourselves to simply be. There is no longer a “best version” of ourselves out there, waiting to be achieved.
We can be completely loving and loved. Just as we are. Right in this moment.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 29thWORD OF THE DAY: CONFIDENT QUOTE OF THE DAY:
THE DAILY LLAMA SAYS TO MEDITATE ON THIS:
Confidence is not something we have. It is something we build. Sitting on our butts and dreaming about some future version of our lives does not create confidence. Confidence is rarely the thing we have before we decide to take action.
Most of us don’t start our recovery process full of confidence. Usually, we feel quite the opposite. Confidence is a by-product of never giving up.
Just for today, don’t give up. Confidence will come eventually.
