Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti: A Detroit Delight
In the heart of Detroit, nestled across from Comerica Park, lies a culinary gem known as Mom’s Spaghetti. This unassuming takeout joint, opened by none other than the legendary Eminem on September 29th, 2021, has become a must-visit spot for locals and tourists alike.
Despite its modest appearance, Mom’s Spaghetti offers more than traditional pasta dishes. From classic spaghetti to savory spaghetti with meatballs and even vegan options, this eatery caters to all palates. The doors open at 4 p.m. and stay welcoming until midnight, making it the perfect post-game dining destination.
Stepping inside, guests are greeted by a cozy two-story setting adorned with Mom’s Spaghetti merchandise and jars of their signature sauce, available for purchase to savor the experience at home. What sets Mom’s Spaghetti apart is not just the food but the rich history behind its creation.
Owned by the iconic Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known as Eminem, this establishment holds a value that transcends its humble beginnings. Eminem, a Detroit native, rose to fame through his music career with D12, garnering platinum records and recently being recognized as the most certified artist for singles by the RIAA.
Beyond the spotlight, Marshall Mathers has faced personal battles with addiction, culminating in a near-fatal incident in 2008. Overcoming these struggles, he sought help, embraced sobriety, and dedicated himself to philanthropic endeavors, supporting initiatives like the Spartan Strong Fund. He credits Sir Elton John for guiding him through his recovery journey (Source: Far Out Magazine) and recently celebrated 16 years with no days off. (Source: People)
Mom’s Spaghetti embodies Eminem’s spirit—authentic, bold, and unapologetic. During my recent visit to this iconic spot, the absence of Eminem’s “Without Me” Robin suit raised intriguing questions. Could it be that Eminem adorns the original suit from 2022 in his “Houdini” video? COULD HE? The mystery lingers.
I also heard from Sober Curator Founder Alysse Bryson that she had eyes on the suit in Los Angeles in March of this year at the Grammy’s Museum as part of a Hip-Hop exhibit. You can read more about that adventure here. You can also check out the IG Reel of Sober Curator Contributors Alysse Bryson, Megan Swan, and Amy Liz Harrison at the exhibit here.

Eminem’s new album, “The Death of Slim Shady,” is out now. It offers a profound and enlightening journey that resonates deeply on a personal recovery level. Those who have traversed the tumultuous path of recovery will find solace and connection in this album, making it a poignant reflection of resilience and growth.
Additionally, fans can dive deeper into Eminem’s world by exploring his exclusive merchandise available at Eminem’s Official Merchandise Store. Discover a range of products that embody Eminem’s iconic style and legacy, offering a tangible link to his artistic journey and creative vision.
So, if you find yourself in Detroit, don’t miss the chance to experience the allure of Mom’s Spaghetti. Located at 2131 Woodward Avenue, this hidden gem awaits, promising a taste of Eminem’s legacy served alongside a side of Detroit charm. Venture to Alley Way, discover the sign and step into a world where pasta, passion, and purpose intersect.
