Shop The Sober Curator, Support Our Community & Recover Out Loud Without Ever Saying A Word

It was only a matter of time before The Sober Curator ventured into the land of sober merchandise. Especially considering I’m always telling people that “shopping is my cardio”. At the beginning of this year, we soft-launched a second website shopthesobercurator.com that features clothing and accessories with some of our favorite sayings. Over time, we hope that it turns into a hub that some of our friends and partners will feature their brands as well. (Example: check out the new Time Takes Time section, which is a new monthly podcast by Sober Curator and Calm Coach Lane Kennedy featuring a rotating panel of voices all in long-term recovery.)

#ADDTOCART TIME TAKES TIME

We’re not selling t-shirts to make money. I’d love to see The Sober Curator become self-supporting, which would allow us to expand and enhance the experience for our readers. In case you didn’t know, this website is entirely run and funded by its volunteers.

Sober Curator Pro Tip: This is one of the perks of being in long-term recovery; having extra funds, time, and energy to put towards being of service in whatever ways I’m called. I sponsor women, volunteer, and serve on several recovery-based nonprofit boards. I find it hugely rewarding. Personally, serving in this space fuels my creative sober soul and allows me to create community with like-minded sober individuals around the country and the world.

Service Work – It Works If You Work It! And We Think You’re Worth It!

Each Sober Curator generously donates their time and energy creating and curating content for you, dear reader. Our only agenda is to keep you informed and entertained. We also want to break the stigma that a sober life is a boring one. Normalizing recovery is possible if we all do our part.

Although we’ve had several offers from treatment centers for sponsorships, we’ve turned them all down. We could turn on network ads that follow you from browser to browser, but we don’t, because we want you to have a great experience when you’re here. You’ll also notice we aren’t selling any kind of recovery services on this site. We do have a robust RESOURCES page and PAY IT FORWARD page for recovery-based nonprofits. And yes, several of our Sober Curators offer coaching services on their sites, and we 100% support that. But this little corner of the online sober universe is here to serve you, to be inspirational, aspirational, and informative. Oh, we also want you to have a really good time discovering the things we’ve curated that we think are pretty dang cool. #ADDTOCART SOBER CURATOR MERCH

#ADDTOCART SHOP SOBER POP

The Merch

Fun fact! Each month, the Sober Curator that authors the highest read article of the month gets to pick out any one item they want from the shop. I like to think of this as thank-you marketing. YOU CAN WIN TOO! If you are subscribed to our email list, you are also automatically entered to win any one item you want from shopthesobercurator.com. Because we all have full-time “real” jobs we don’t even have time to send out that many email newsletters, so it’s not even an annoying list to be on. (But if you find that it is, of course, you can opt-out at any time and no we will never sell your email to anyone, that’s rude.)

#ADDTOCART HAPPY EVERY HOUR

So that’s the pitch. If you buy our merch, it will help us keep the sober lights on, help our marketing efforts, and hopefully one day soon, allow us to pay our sober contributors and create even more cool, curated content for you. Plus, wearing our merch will allow you to recover out loud without saying a word. (#seewhatididthere #icrackmyselfup)

We’re in talks about starting a Patreon as a place to offer premium content, but this site will always be free because accessibility to sober content is important to us. And by saying “starting a Patreon”, what I really mean is we have started one, but the Premium content isn’t quite ready yet. Love being an early adopter AND love us? Sacrifice one trip to Starbucks a month and become a Patron for $5/month at www.patreon.com/thesobercurator.
