SUBLIME FAMILY JAM: Last December, The Nowell Family Foundation achieved its inaugural milestone with the inauguration of “Bradley’s House,” an elevated sobriety home. To commemorate this achievement, we are organizing our first annual benefit concert titled “Sublime Family Jam.” This exclusive event is scheduled to take place at the Oceanside Museum of Art on May 11, running from 5:00 to 10:00 pm PST.

Hosted by Jakob Nowell and Eric Wilson of Sublime, the event will feature a DJ experience curated by Bradley’s widow, Troy Dendekker, adding to the familial atmosphere. Special guest appearances to be revealed leading up to the event.

The museum will showcase three exhibitions during our event, including a rare Sublime memorabilia display. Attendees will also have the opportunity to gain an intimate insight into the Nowell Family and the foundation’s development. The event will culminate in a Congressional Art Competition, recognizing artwork focused on addiction and mental health.

About The Nowell Family Foundation and Bradley’s House

Emanating from the legacy of the late Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, the Nowell Family Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, extending addiction recovery services to the music community by harnessing the collective strength of industry stalwarts and those touched by the transformative power of music.

At the heart of this noble endeavor lies Bradley’s House, a sanctuary of healing that offers a lifeline to individuals within the music realm grappling with opioid addiction, irrespective of their financial circumstances. This endeavor is proudly upheld by the Nowell Family Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation.

Driven by a deep-rooted commitment to preventing the anguish of drug overdose, the Nowell family, in collaboration with trusted ally Todd “Z-Man” Zalkins, embarked on a journey to establish the Nowell Family Foundation. Guided by Papa Nowell’s conviction that true purpose resides in aiding those battling addiction, the Foundation has emerged as a beacon of solace and support for those in need.

With Kellie Nowell, Bradley’s devoted sister, at the helm as the executive director, the Foundation strides forward with unwavering dedication towards its mission, ensuring steadfast service to individuals in pursuit of recovery for years to come.

Recovery Non-Profit Resource Guide

At The Sober Curator, we believe in the power of giving. Whether it’s through volunteering your time, using your unique talents, or donating money, giving back to the community has numerous benefits. Not only does it make us better humans, but studies have shown that those who give are happier, have longer lifespans, and feel more connected to the world around them.

As Pablo Picasso famously said, the meaning of life is to find your gift, but the purpose of life is to give it away. That’s where Pay it Forward comes in. Our comprehensive resource directory is a curated list of reputable, recovery-related organizations that are seeking donations and volunteers to help enhance our communities.

At The Sober Curator, we are always on the lookout for new opportunities to give back. If you have a favorite nonprofit organization related to recovery and mental health that you think we should feature, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
