PUBLISHER’S NOTE
It’s Monday, and today, I am grateful for my family. October is Libra season, known as the balanced, harmonious one of the Zodiac. In my family, that is when most of my family was born. Libras have surrounded me my entire life. To any Libra reading this, this neurodivergent, unorganized Aquarius thanks you for helping to ground me throughout my life.

This week, Analisa Six is back with this month’s Sobercast. I don’t know about you, but the Sobercast has helped me better understand my relationships and why certain people in my life have helped me grow into the person I am today.

We are hard at work providing a brand new user experience for our Spiritual Gangster section, and this week, we have officially rolled out a revamped experience for Happy Every Hour (our Funkos are wearing aprons!!! And crafting mocktails!!! I mean, it is just too cute!). Check it out and let us know how we did!

Tom Holland Calls His Sober Journey “The Best Thing I’ve Ever Done”

Tom Holland, best known for his role as Spider-Man, recently opened up about his sobriety journey and how it led him to launch his own non-alcoholic beer brand, Bero. After struggling through Dry January in 2022, Holland began to confront his complex relationship with alcohol, realizing that it had become more than just a way to celebrate or cope. His attempts to extend his sobriety to February and March only highlighted how challenging it was for him to live without alcohol, ultimately leading him to acknowledge that he had an unhealthy reliance on it.

By June of that year, as he celebrated his birthday, Holland had fully embraced the benefits of a sober life, which included better sleep, improved mental clarity, and stronger relationships. Fast forward to this year, Tom is now two years AF and has made a huge announcement for Sober October.

Holland has launched Bero, a non-alcoholic beer brand that reflects his lifestyle and values. The brand offers a range of flavors inspired by personal touchstones in his life, such as his hometown of Kingston and his beloved schnauzer, Noon. Holland describes Bero as “a celebration of craftsmanship and quality, made for discerning drinkers who want more from life, whether or not they consume alcohol”. With this launch, Holland joins a growing movement of celebrities who are championing alcohol-free alternatives, encouraging fans and the public alike to embrace a more mindful approach to social drinking, without compromising on taste or experience.

October’s Liminal Space: The Gift of Uncertainty in Recovery

As October rolls along with its cooler air and longer nights, we often hear in Celtic tradition that “the veil is thin.” It’s said that during this time, the boundary between the seen and unseen worlds softens, allowing us to connect more deeply with our inner selves, our ancestors, and the spiritual realm. For those on a recovery journey, this thinning of the veil can carry a lot of meaning.
