Tom Felton Gets Candid About his Sobriety + Last Day to Register for The Intentional Course
PUBLISHER’S NOTE
It’s Monday, and today, my biological clock is confused due to the time change. I know I should feel less tired, but try telling my body that. Also, did I dream this, or weren’t we discussing, like, getting rid of the time change? How is this still a thing?
Anyway, tomorrow seems to be like really important for some reason 😉. I hope you all stay safe tomorrow. Be kind to yourselves and try not to allow the uncertainty of tomorrow to weigh heavily on your mental health.
If the election is making you more anxious than usual, help is available. Check out our nonprofit resources page and our alcohol and substance use disorder resource guide. Help is available, and you are not alone.
If your life or someone else’s is in imminent danger, please call 911. If you are in crisis and need immediate help, please call: 988.

Gnista Floral Wormwood | NA Alt Spirits Review
I recently popped into my favorite Seattle non-alcoholic bottle shop, as I was overdue to chat with the owner about her new offerings. Kirstin Vracko of Cheeky & Dry was ready to walk me through her latest favorites in the spirits, beer, and wine categories. On this particular day, I was after something I could sip on at the end of the day—something versatile enough to allow me to experiment with some new NA cocktails. And then I met Gnista Floral Wormwood!

The Pharmacist: A Profound Look at Loss, Justice, and America’s Opioid Crisis
In the sea of mini-series documentaries, Netflix’s The Pharmacist emerges as a rare and profoundly human narrative, blending personal tragedy with a broader societal crisis. What begins as a father’s relentless pursuit of justice for his son unravels into an expose of America’s opioid epidemic. Directed by Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby Nason, The Pharmacist turns the microscope on the quiet heroism of a small-town pharmacist from Louisiana, Dan Schneider, whose grief becomes a moral crusade.

Tom Felton has been Sober for nearly 8 Years
Tom Felton, best known as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, openly shares his journey through addiction and recovery in his memoir, Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard. Felton details the toll that alcohol took on his life, especially in his twenties, when drinking became a regular means of escapism. His substance use grew to the point of impacting his work, where he found himself unprepared and relying on alcohol even while on set. Recognizing this habit as a symptom of deeper issues, Felton acknowledges that it was never just about the drinking—it was a response to pain he hadn’t yet addressed.
An intervention, led by his friends, family, and even his lawyer, was a pivotal moment for Felton. Though initially resistant and unable to fully confront his struggles, he eventually made multiple attempts at rehab.
His path wasn’t linear; Felton left his first rehab within 24 hours and was later expelled from a second program. Yet, through these experiences, he began to find clarity and, ultimately, the strength to pursue sobriety for himself.
Today, Felton is committed to advocating for mental health and addiction recovery, openly sharing his story to encourage others. His memoir emphasizes that seeking help is never a sign of weakness but a vital step toward healing, underscoring his hope to reduce the stigma around recovery and inspire those facing similar battles.

Gratitude Month: The How & Why Gratitude Impacts Recovery
In the recovery world, November is Gratitude Month and as one of those people, gratitude is critical to my recovery. You can probably find hundreds of definitions of what gratitude is and what it means, but simply put, gratitude is the appreciation of the good things in our lives, big or small. It’s also an action word.

Simple and Clean
One day I awoke and told myself I was sad. Thus, my childhood died.
I remember smiles; laughter from the simplest things… distant memories.
