PUBLISHER’S NOTE
It’s Monday, and I don’t know about you, but I am sitting under my blanket, sipping my PSL, and enjoying the fact that it is finally fall. Fall in the city is my favorite time of year, and aside from the pesky leaf blowers, I have no complaints.

For me, fall is the perfect time of year to reflect on recovery, especially with it being Sober October. Maybe you’re sober curious and are trying out sobriety out for 30 days by reassessing your relationship with alcohol. Either way, we support all who walk a sober path and wish you all a pumpkin spice filled sober October!

TRAVEL
Staying in Tune—The Dance of Travel and Connection in Sobriety

Traveling is usually a great adventure—a dance with the unfamiliar that invites us to embrace new sights and sounds. Yet, for those on the path of sobriety, this exhilarating journey can hold its challenges. The allure of exploration often masks the lurking triggers and temptations that can arise in new places, which makes it all too easy to feel lost or adrift without the comfort of familiar support systems. This is why staying connected while traveling is vital for your recovery.

Josh Peck Recently Opened Up About His Recovery Journey

josh peck smile GIF by Grandfathered

Josh Peck has been making a come back, serving as the main love interest on How I Met Your Father, he recently reflected on his 16 years of sobriety. The former Nickelodeon star stopped drinking alcohol with the help of a 12-step program, he shared that sobriety that keeps him "anchored".

"I'm lucky to have found recovery through a 12 step program almost 16 years ago and it's something that I still do regularly to this day," Peck told Page Six. "It gives me a lot of structure in my life. It's really the bedrock of my life and from it, all these wonderful things have been built."

Letters by Andrew Littlefield

For years I have dreamed of a project: To write everyone I loved and tell them why I love them, Tell them how they changed my life. Tell them which pieces of them left an imprint on me that I will carry forever. Tell them which pieces of me I was happy to surrender. There would be so many letters.

Happy Every Hour Review: Hoplark 0.0 Citra

If you’re exploring the wide range of non-alcoholic beverages and you happen to be a lover of hops, you’ve likely discovered a few options known as hop water. I honestly had a hard time distinguishing between hop water and NA beer when I first started looking into my options. As a fan of hoppy IPAs, I want to smell the hops in my glass before it hits my lips. So, of course, I was curious about this category.

Santosha in Yoga: Cultivating Contentment for a Happier Life

Yoga’s second niyama, or moral imperative, is santosha. This translates from Sanskrit as “contentment.” To be our happiest, we must cultivate contentment.

Drink: The Intimate Relationship Between Women and Alcohol by Ann Dowsett Johnston

Let’s start by owning that I am totally biased because this was THE BOOK that I held onto when I was #sobercurious and in early sobriety.  It spoke directly to my head, heart, and feminist political rage stewing undertow.

Sober Not Mature: The Dr. is Way In

This week we have…Dr. Sarah Michaud! She’s back! We had her on the podcast for Episode 72 (definitely listen to it if you haven’t already) and she was a lot of fun and very informative. She’s become a friend over the last year and we wanted to talk to her again and share what she’s been up to. We talked about recovery, trauma, codependency, relationships, meetings, podcasts, and anything else we could think of. An hour and a half isn’t enough time with her and she will definitely be back.

Turning The Page: How Sobriety Inspired Me To Change My Career

When I got sober in 2010, I was 39. From the outside, my life seemed pretty perfect—a beautiful family, a successful business, a popular blog, a nice house, two cars, and, for God’s sake, over 3,000 Facebook friends. But on the inside, I was unraveling like a sweater from Temu.
