Demi Moore Shows Us the Power of Resiliency + Happy Presidents Day
PUBLISHER’S NOTE
It is Monday, and today, we are observing Presidents Day here in the States. Whether you’re spending the day off relaxing, diving into some #QuitLit, or enjoying a zero-proof cocktail, we’re here to remind you that recovery is all about progress—not perfection.
Fun fact: Abraham Lincoln was known for his clear mind and famously avoided alcohol—proof that you don’t need a drink to lead with strength and wisdom. Cheers to leading your life with clarity and a little sober sparkle!

RationAle Brewing Requires Some Rationalization
When I first crack the can of cool concoctions, I get a surprising and unexpected smell permeating my nasal cilia. It’s a malty scent with a hint of sour. I know sour is a flavor, but I describe the scent as sour. Not like milk, but more like lemon sour. Oh, right, citrus. RationAle Brewing strikes again with their titled common sense. Thankfully, the surprises end there because I get that beautiful cloudy beer when I pour. The color is a little lighter in the yellow Pantone than I would like in a hazy IPA, but I’ll chalk that up to the fact it’s an NA beer and a citrus-based one, at that.

Paint by Number Barbie: A Happy Accident Turned Art Therapy Win
I love art projects, but let’s be real—I do not have the natural skills to create masterpieces from scratch. However, I’ve dabbled in paint-by-number before and loved the process. It’s the perfect combo of creativity and structure—kind of like coloring, but for grown-ups who like their art with a side of nostalgia.
So, when I stumbled upon a vintage paint-by-number Barbie, I knew it had to be mine. The design? Minimal. Iconic. Pink. Basically, the visual equivalent of a Barbie Dreamhouse—clean, classic, and unapologetically fabulous.

Demi Moore’s Long Journey to Recovery

Demi Moore’s sobriety journey is one marked by resilience, self-discovery, and a commitment to emotional growth. After first seeking treatment in 1985 during the filming of St. Elmo’s Fire, Moore remained sober for nearly two decades before experiencing a difficult relapse in her 40s. That chapter led her to seek help once again in 2012, and she has been living alcohol-free ever since—emphasizing not only physical sobriety but what she calls “emotional sobriety,” a deeper dedication to self-awareness and healing.
Moore has been open about the challenges she’s faced, from grappling with addiction in her early career to repairing relationships with her daughters after her relapse. Her honesty in her memoir Inside Out and in interviews, such as her emotional reunion with Andrew McCarthy in the documentary Brats, showcases her willingness to hold herself accountable while inspiring others. Today, Moore’s sobriety stands as a testament to the power of choosing self-worth and connection over numbing and avoidance—a choice her daughters have publicly praised her for making.
