Shakira is the Sober Queen We Stan and Embodies #SoberIsSexy
Shakira is one of the rare straight edge celebrities who completely abstains from alcohol. She also chooses not to smoke or drink caffeine for health reasons. Shakira is best known for the songs “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Wherever, Whenever”.
When the songstress was only 2-years-old her older brother, William Mebarak who was 19-years-old, was killed by a drunk driver. She wrote a song, “Your Dark Glasses” about the tragic loss and the impact it has had on her life.
In an interview with VH1, Shakira’s Father opened up about the song and its impact on their family, "One day, she said to me: 'Dad, I want you to listen to this song, it's called 'Your dark glasses'. From the moment I lost my eldest son, I hid my pain behind a pair of glasses and she made a connection to that," he explained.
